Religious Tolerance in the Early IVth Century and Edict of Serdica (311) and Edict of Medio- lanum (313)

Abstract

The article presents the change of religious policy in the early fourth century as a consequence of the Serdica edict of Emperor Galerius of 311, and the Edict of Milan of 313, issued by the emperors Constantine and Licinius.

The two edicts are translated from Latin into Bulgarian. Also, the publication includes legal interpretations of the edicts and an analysis of the form and content of the two imperial constitutions.
